The Growling Tigers kept on climbing back but to no avail as the Soaring Falcons cruised to a wire-to-wire win.
The Growling Tigers were just within five, 80-85, before former UAAP Juniors MVP Jerie Pingoy sealed the deal with charity stripe conversions for Adamson.
The outcome of the game was greatly affected by the Tigers’ 41 turnovers against Falcons’ 22. Robbie Manalang led the Falcons with 19 points on a 43% shooting clip with three assists against four turnovers, while Kurt Lojera contributed 16 points for the Falcons on an impressive 60% shooting from the field. Tigers’ Center Jeepy Faundo paced the España-based team with 21 markers and hauled down 12 boards, while UST team captain Marvin Lee contributed 14 points alongside 9 turnovers. AdU will be facing the De La Salle Green Archers next on September 20, 2pm, at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, while UST will be facing the National University (NU) Bulldogs at 4pm on the same date and at the same venue.
