Thirdy Ravena punctuated the win for the Blue Eagles with an easy drive en route to a 21 point lead, the highest of the game.

The Katipunan-based squad had an easy 18-11 first quarter game with Chibueze Ikeh, the team’s foreign player, who rocked the rim with a loud left-handed jam.

Red Warrior Mark Maloles hit back-to-back baskets in the third quarter in an effort to salvage their first win, 27-32.

The Blue Eagles, however, managed to counter the efforts of Red Warriors, outscoring them in the 4th period, 23-13.

Thirdy Ravena scored 21 points sinking 7 of his 12 field goal attempts and honing all of his free throws which made him the player of the game, while Nieto brothers combined for 21 markers.

Team Captain Alvin Pasaol paced UE with 22 points and four turnovers.

The Ateneo Blue Eagles’ next game will be on September 27 against the UST Growling Tigers while the UE Red Warriors will face the AdU Soaring Falcons on October 1, both at the Big Dome. SHAYLA RAE ROMERO
