ADMU Blue Eagles sweep NU Bulldogs

The Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles remain undefeated as they dismantle the National University (NU) Bulldogs, 96-83, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 Men’s Basketball tournament on Saturday, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

After being down by four at the end of the 1st quarter, the Blue Eagles found their footing and overpowered the Bulldogs on the next three quarters of the game.

Blue Eagles import, Chibueze Ikeh, led the Katipunan-based team with 18 points, including two triples.

Vince Tolentino contributed 15 markers while the Nieto brothers combined for 24 points.

NU’s shooting guard, Jayjay Alejandro, thrived with 24 points on a 50% shooting and three assists while playmaker Antonio Joson added 14 markers and seven dimes.

ADMU remained immaculate boasting a 6-0 record, while NU dropped to 2-4.

The Blue Eagles will be defending their immaculate standing on their last game for the first round of the UAAP Men’s Basketball tournament against last year’s champion, De La Salle University Green Archers, on October 8 at the Mall of Asia Arena at 4pm, while the Bulldogs will be facing the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons on the same venue at 12 pm.
