The Adamson University (ADU) Falcons’ back to back win sent the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors to its fifth straight loss, 79-60, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 men’s basketball tournament, on October 1 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Adamson took the life out from UE right from the get go, opening the game with an 11-0 run during the first three minutes of the game that left the Red Warriors behind at the end of 1st quarter, 23-11.

UE continued to make their efforts as Mark Olayon was the first to score double digits in the game, with 10 points, for both teams but ADU still managed to maintain their lead at halftime, 41-31.

The Red Warriors converted on just 20 of their 63 field goal attempts, only good for a poor 31.75% compared to the Falcons’ 30 of 68 shooting.

Papi Sarr paced the Falcons with a double-double, 15 points and 16 rebounds, followed by Sean Manganti with 10 markers and eight rebounds.

Mark Olayon and Alvin Pasaol led the Red Warriors with 16 and 15 points, respectively, with Pasaol shooting a measly 26% from the field.

The Soaring Falcons improved to a 3-2 tally, while the Red Warriors remained winless after five outings.

ADU is set to battle the University of the Philippines (UP) while UE will face De La Salle University (DLSU) on Wednesday, October 4 at the Big Dome.
