Soaring Falcons whip Red Warriors

Adamson University (AdU) Soaring Falcons rolled past the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, 66-57, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 men's basketball tournament on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia arena.
The payoff period became a defensive battle as both teams struggled to score the leather, with the Falcons outscoring UE, 11-9.
Recto-based squad star Alvin Pasaol was held scoreless in the final frame after putting up 22 in the previous quarters.
Adamson recorded 21 assists compared to the Red Warriors' 12.
UE's 57 points in the whole game is the record for lowest output in a game this season.
Papi Sarr paced the Falcons with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Jerrick Ahanmisi poured 14 markers.
Alvin Pasaol and Mark Olayon led UE with 22 and 16 points, respectively.
Adamson improved to 6-3 to strengthen its hold on the third seed, while UE fell to second-worst 2-7.
AdU will next face the DLSU Green Archers on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Big Dome. UP Fighting Maroons is up next for UE on Sunday, Oct. 22, at Fil Oil arena in San Juan.
