The Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws cruised past the University of the East (UE) Red Warriors, 79-63, in the Men’s Basketball tournament of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 80 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.
Arvin Tolentino sank back-to-back triples at the first two minutes of the payoff period which started the onslaught for the Tamaraws, outscoring UE, 30-14.
UE went out strong in the first half, grabbing the lead heading into halftime, 33-29.
The Red Warriors are now out of contention in the Final Four after the loss.
Jasper Parker led the Morayta-based squad with 18 points and eight assists, followed by Prince Orizu with a double-double, 14 markers and 13 caroms. Tolentino contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.
UE stalwart Alvin Pasaol had 18 markers and seven caroms while Mark Olayon chipped in 14 points and six dimes.
